Mission Statement

It is the mission of the New Durham Fire Department to provide for the emergency and non-emergency fire and EMS needs of our community. We will provide the public with education and services that focus on the prevention of injuries and the reduction of property damage. Our enforcement of state statutes and local ordinances will be done fairly with the goal of voluntary compliance always foremost.

Brush Fire Permits

A permit is now required to burn brush on your property and must be issued by a New Durham Issuing Agent. Contact us at the station (859-FIRE) for details. Somebody is at the station on Saturday mornings from 0900-1100 to issue permits. Today's fire dager can be found here

Department Information

Starting January 1, 2012 we are dispatched by the Strafford County Sherrifs office via radio on a frequency of 154.370 MHz. The audio of our dispatch tone is here.

Our business/station phone number is 603-859-FIRE (3473), but please keep in mind that as we are a call department, there is not always somebody in the station, so please leave a message. If you have an emergency, call 911, not the station! You can also reach us via FAX at 603-859-3333.
