New Durham Fire Department

The New Durham Fire Department serves the residents, guests and visitors of the town, providing Fire, Rescue and Ambulance service, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

We operate out of one station, located downtown at 6 Main Street, in New Durham.

We operate 7 pieces of apparatus out of the station.

Brush Fire Permits

A permit is now required to burn brush on your property and must be issued by a New Durham Issuing Agent. Contact us at the station (859-FIRE) for details.

New this year, you can also obtain seasonal campfire permits online 7 days a week/24 hours a day by going to New Hampshire Division of Forests and Lands ONLINE BURN PERMITTING SYSTEM . Please note, that this site charges a $3.00 fee for the permit (the fee is not received or collected by the New Durham Fire Department).

Somebody is at the station on Saturday mornings from 0900-1200 to issue permits.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the New Durham Fire Department to provide for the emergency and non-emergency fire and EMS needs of our community. We will provide the public with education and services that focus on the prevention of injuries and the reduction of property damage. Our enforcement of state statutes and local ordinances will be done fairly with the goal of voluntary compliance always foremost.
